Urinals

In a darkened cell the audience were given a torch to explore three urinals which were covered with a combination of text and imagery. The text covered gay rights and attitudes during the 1960’s and the change in the law. The imagery was a celebration of gay iconography and art throughout the ages. There was an audio clip of John Wolfenden talking in 1957. On the door, before moving onto the death room, the audience were invited to read Sheila Ballantine’s concerns about Kenneth mental state days before the murder.
