Stage Set

A purple velvet curtain
frames the celebration of Joe’s plays and the major themes within his work –
sex, faith, death, pride and authority. The props and set dressing represent
these themes and there are some direct references to his work including the coffin
from Loot, the rope ladder and phallus at the end of What The Butler Saw, body
parts - a recurring theme in almost all his plays, the toaster from Good and
faithful servant, etc.
