Oscar was painted into Love and Death – another of Wilde’s favourite paintings by George F. Watts.

A huge peacock feather also flew in for this last scene. Wilde wrote in his essay The House Beautiful

“…the famous peacock Room, which I regard as the finest thing in colour and art decoration that the world has ever seen….” which was the inspiration for the peacock theme in this show.
