Relevant Experience

June 2001- Aug 2003                    Production Assistant at Leicester Haymarket Theatre

This role provided me with skills and experience which have undoubtedly enhanced my design work. I was involved in the organisation and running of all the production departments, contacting suppliers, attending and taking minutes at all design meetings. I was also production manager on some small scale shows and was always heavily involved in the organisation and planning of all the shows I designed for the Haymarket.

June 2004 – August 2004             Touring Theatre Technician

After completing the design of Much Ado About Nothing and Twelfth Night for the RJ Williamson Shakespeare Company I was asked to join the tour as a theatre technician. This role encompassed every aspect of the production. From unloading and constructing the set to costume repairs and running props. It was an invaluable insight into how a show tours and gave me first hand experience of adapting a set to six different venues, working in extreme weather conditions and carrying out repairs and modifications throughout.
