Early Beginnings
I re-drew the map of the
Saffron Lane estates where Joe lived as a family tree which connected to a map
of the South Bank exhibition of 1951. The great cultural event of the year Joe
moved to London and met Kenneth. The map contained diary entries which detail
this meeting. Behind the map was a combination of family photos and cultural
references of the time. The map changed from black and white to colour as Joe
leaves Leicester and starts his new life at Rada.
